Lincolnshire Tourism Leaflet Swap and Networking Event attracts record number of businesses

by Helen Tomkinson 14. March 2012 11:38

PRESS RELEASE15 March 2012

Lincolnshire Tourism Leaflet Swap and Networking Event attracts record number of businesses

Tourism businesses from across Lincolnshire gathered at Bainland Country Park, Woodhall Spa for a leaflet swap and networking even on Tuesday 13th March.

Scheduled during English Tourism Week and organised by Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce the event attracted over 100 delegates from across the county.

The event was an opportunity to hear about provision of tourism in Lincolnshire, exchange leaflets with other businesses ahead of the 2012 season, find out about Olympic related opportunities and also a free Customer Service taster session was offered.

Charlotte Robson, Event Organiser, said 'The leaflet swap was a great event and it was good to see so many businesses come together. At this point in the year tourism businesses benefit from exchanging leaflets in advance of the year ahead and finding out about what else is going on across the county. Bainland Country Park is a great venue as it is a central point in Lincolnshire so easy for everyone to access. Sadly, we did have to limit the number of delegates due to the venue size and are so now considering holding another similar event later in the year.

Businesses attending the event included attractions, guest houses, hotels, campsites from North East Lincolnshire to the south of the county and everywhere in between. Speakers included Emma Tatlow, from Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Navaz Sutton from Lincolnshire Sports Partnership and Simon Kitto from Peoples 1st.

During lunch Bainland Country Park showed delegates around the latest developments including a sneak preview of a luxury lodge complete with hot tub.

The event was organised by Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by East Lindsey District Council, West Lindsey District Council and North Kesteven District Council.

‘The leaflet swap event was a great way to find out what is happening in tourism across the county, and it was useful to get an insight into how we can maximise from the opportunities the Olympics & Paralympics games, the torch relay and other related activities this year. We were delighted to host the event and take the opportunity to showcase the latest developments here at Bainland.'
